From Dublin, Ireland to the Caribbean, the 255 years old legacy of Sir Arthur Guinness, the founder of Guinness, will be celebrated in many different ways today. Here in SVG, where our best way of celebrating is to “fete like a king”, Sir Arthur Guinness day will be celebrated, as usual, in a grand concert at the Solidarity in Action Car Park in Kingstown.

According to Caricia Taylor, Marketing Assistant at the St. Vincent Brewery, this year’s concert will feature two of dancehall’s biggest acts, Konshens and Popcaan. Also on the cast are some of SVG’s biggest DJ’s such as Sound Definition, Hypactive Movement, Simple Sounds & DJ Kal who will be playing on vinyl. Royale, First Lady, Abuza are among the local acts who will be performing. There will also be performances from stilt walkers and the 246 bubblers who were featured in Aidonia’s “Bruki” music video.

Hot97svg spoke with Konshens, who told us that he was “very amped” and ready for the show. When asked what patrons can expect, the “Gyal Ah Bubble” singer responded, “Shellings” Konshens plans to flatten the crowd at the show with songs ranging from the time of his first visit to SVG four years ago to the present along with songs they’ve never heard before.

Speaking of his future, Konshens revealed that he has many great projects from every genre in store for his fans, including a soca collaboration with Destra Garcia, produced Kubiyashi.

To all the Konshens fans – Stay hungry, he will be feeding you soon!

Happy Arthur Guinness Day to ALL!!!
