Kaylee Christina Shallow, a 22 year old from Ontario Canada is currently representing St. Vincent and the Grenadines in the Miss Grand International competition to be aired tonight at http://www.missgrandinternational.com/?page=liveStream.

Though Canadian by birth, Kaylee has Vincentian roots which stem from her father’s side of the family. Her father’s parents were residents of Bridgetown Biabou but relocated to the U.K. when he was just 6 years old. They later moved to Canada where Kaylee’s parents met.

Kaylee is no novice in pageantry. From the age of 17 she has been competing in pageants, winning the national titles of Miss Multicultural Canada 2011 and Miss Tourism Canada 2003 where she represented Canada in Equitorial Guinea Africa.

Most recently, Kaylee competed in the Miss Earth Ontario preliminaries where she copped the title Miss Earth Hamilton. She then moved on to compete in the Miss Earth Canada national pageant on August 21 to 24th of this year, where she placed in the top 5 for swimwear. Her performance and personality were so impressive the director of the pageant gave her the chance to represent SVG in the Miss Grand International Pagean in Bangkok.

The Miss Grand International pageant is a beauty contest run by a Thailand based organization that goes by the same name and is supported by Concept Stop The War. The aim of the competition is geared towards ridding the world of conflict and improving the quality of life for humanity.

Kaylee is also personally contributing to these efforts through her own charity Ruby’s Gemstones, a project she started to help people live in peace and harmony. In order to achieve this Kaylee believes we must look within ourselves, find what is good and share it with the world.

This is the 2nd year of the Miss Grand International Competition and the 1st time SVG will be represented.
