Starz released the season 2 trailer for “Power” and, from the looks of it, the stakes have been raised for James “Ghost” St. Patrick, who must double down on his drug business while he tries to save his Truth nightclub.

Executive produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, the cable network drama picks up where it left off last season, with Jackson’s Kanan character getting out of jail on a mission to reclaim his throne as the city’s drug kingpin.

Trouble is, that crown is still worn by Ghost and his business partner Tommy (Joseph Sikora), so the Animal Ambition MC takes the Shakespearian route, playing the duo against each other to dismantle their organization just as Ghost’s mistress Angela (Lela Loren), an Assistant US Attorney, is investigating their drug ring.

“If he had been dead when I got out like we planned,” said Kanan. “We’d be running the whole shit. Tommy’ll tell me anything I wanna know. I’ll play his ass to be at war with Ghost.”

With all of the players jostling for prime position, “Power,” which returns this summer with 10 episodes, should be just as thrilling as last season.
