Is Corey Todd the man behind the plot to kill imprison dancehall superstar Adijah Palmer more popularly known as Vybz Kartel?

Most followers of dancehall and reggae music have been asking themselves that question, since TVJ news broke the story last week of a plot to take the DJ’s life.

However the police have thrown the story out stating that they are not aware of such a plot.

On this past Thursday nights edition of TVJ’s Nightly Prime Time News, Doraine Samuels confirmed that TVJ’s News team had gotten evidence showing that there was indeed a plot to kill Palmer and the police was trying to hide it.

It was also reported that an ancillary worker confessed to the plot telling investigators that an inmate instructed him to pick up two bottles and bring to him.

During a routine search of the prison, two ratchet knives and two bottles of a poisonous substance were uncovered in the maximum security section of the facility.

Sources close to the former Portmore Empire deejay said that Kartel was aware of the plot, but was not worried about it and is focusing on his upcoming appeal.

“There are a lot of badmind and corrupt people in the system so this is not something new and Addi [Vybz Kartel] is not letting this get him down,” the Source said to Jamaica Take Out.

It is further alleged that reason behind the plot is in response to the failed 1 million dollar hit on the life of Palmer’s former business partner Corey Todd, owner and operator of the Quad and Taboo Night Clubs.

Todd was injured when a bullet shattered his right arm in a gun attack last year.

The police have not been able to make any major breakthroughs in the case so far. They are still seeking a motorcyclist who it is believed sped off after his accomplice was killed during the pre-dawn attack on Todd.

The man, who was later identified as Corey Grant of a Kingston 2 address, was cut down in a hail of bullets by a policeman, who is a licensed firearm holder, and who was at the scene of the shooting.

Kartel and Todd’s partnership had a very bitter and public split where Todd went public stating that Palmer had threatened to take his life.

Palmer was also one of the first persons the police had as a suspect for the hit on Todd.
