In his new single called “What If”, Busy Signal is holding no punches as he takes lyrical swings at Vybz Kartel, Alkaline, Ishawna and other top entertainers. The song is on a remake of the 80s “Gun inna Baggy” riddim. In the song, Busy ask “What if?” throughout and each time he asks, reggae fans will know exactly who and what he is talking about or maybe they will. Some wont, most will.

“What if mi never smoke weed an’ a smoke crack?”

This is probably one of the only questions that reggae fans wont be too sure who Busy Signal is talking about. They will soon though. An artists manager who has and had quite a few prominent artists under his management has recently blogged about the difficulties of dealing with a crackhead artist. Many will be surprise at who some fans are saying they believe the artist is. Stay tuned to 18 Karat Reggae for more on this one.

“What if mi did a bleach fi turn brown because mi Black… What if mi tattoo mi eyes, mi face, neck, hand and back”

No secret there that he is referring to Alkaline, Gage, Vybz Kartel and a few others.

“What if mi was the type of person to murder mi friend because him borrow mi strap and nuh bring it back”

Obviously this one is aimed at the world boss or jail boss as his haters now call him. Vybz Kartel is in prison serving a life sentence for the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams over a gun that was not returned to Kartel.

“What if things set the next way, And the boy wha dis Konshens dead the next day.”

Here Busy Signal is referring to the incident where a young producer went up side the head of Konshens with a bottle landing the “Gal a Bubble” DJ in the hospital.

“What if Tomorrow Ishawna find out her career a guh flop, And then a Foota Hype shi affi link back.”
