BY 2 p.m., most spectators — and probably the feters themselves — had lost count of how many times Machel Montano’s runway hit “Like ah Boss” had been played on South Quay, Port of Spain.

Indeed, when a jamming took place on lower Charlotte Street as big band Tribe made its way downtown, leaving those in its wake, including Ronnie and Caro’s Ah Come Back Home, on South Quay for close to half and hour, the deejays seemed to believe that ‘The Boss’ was the only panacea to keep the revellers from getting grumpy.

The in-betweeners, Destra Garcia with “Lucy” and Benjai (Rodney Le Blanc) with “Phenomenal”, were heard but were no match for Monk Monte in the capital.
