Khalid Ali, the Los Angeles Lakers’ ball boy during Michael Jordan‘s rookie season, has hit the jackpot with his signed pair of Nike sneakers worn in-game by “His Airness,” which will be going up for auction 31 years later.

Having kept them in pristine condition and successfully completed each verification step for authenticity, Ali is looking at what professionals have estimated to be $50,000 USD payday. According to SCP Auctions, Jordan only laced up in these sneakers during the earlier months of his first season as a Bull before switching to his signature player model, effectively influencing the value of the shoes.

To put it in perspective, a pair of signed, game-worn Air Jordan 1‘s dating back to MJ’s rookie season sold for $31,070 USD back in 2013. The two and a half week auction will take place online at spcauctions.com, and will end April 25.
