Kobe Bryant‘s signature Nike shoe is given its simplest design treatment yet with the new Nike Kobe X “Fundamentals.”

The shoe takes inspiration from Kobe’s on-court philosophy, which Nike’s website states, “It’s black and white: master the fundamentals to master the game.” This iteration’s White/Wolf Grey-Black colorway gives the shoe a clean monochromatic palette, where a white woven-textured upper, translucent Zoom unit midsole and white laces are complemented by the black Swoosh logo on the side and black heel collar.

The tongue features Kobe’s signature on the top and a black mamba-inspired snakeskin design in black. The back of the right heel is stamped with Kobe’s signature sheath logo, while the left heel sports four red lines which symbolize Kobe’s ill-fated Achilles’ heel injury.

The Kobe X “Fundamentals” collection drops May 21 online at a price of $180 USD a pair.
