American rapper Common has been confirmed for Reggae Sumfest.

The greatest reggae show on Earth, on International Night One, Friday July 17 will see the multi-faceted artiste, actor and poet rock the stage.

Common arrived on the hip-hop scene in the early 90s as Common Sense. His music was infused with old school beats, jazz- and funk-influenced lyrics that helped kick off an underground hip-hop movement that would gain steam and attract new rappers by the latter part of the decade.

Common is the first announcement on this year’s lineup of Reggae Sumfest. The 2015 staging of the greatest reggae show on earth will commence on July 12. The three nights of live performances will run from July 16 – 18 at the Catherine Hall venue in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
