Let it be known: Missy Elliott isn’t taking any prisoners this time around. Rap’s mission-action-queen covers the newest issue of Billboard magazine in a supa dupa fly shade of blue. In the issue, she discussed a wide range of topics, including her comeback, the status of her health and her sentiments on the current rap scene.

At one point in the discussion, Miss Demeanor name dropped a few emcees she’s feeling. Even though she mentioned Drake, J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar, it wasn’t enough to satisfy the Billboard mag interviewer, so he inquired about the obvious. Peep the buzzworthy excerpt below.

When asked about Nicki Minaj, who is clearly influenced by Elliott, she mock-innocently replies, “Oh, she is?” (Speaking to her influence generally, she adds, “Unfortunately, breaking news, there is only one Missy.”)

Start of a new fem beef? Remember, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus and Nicki. However, Missy’s reaction isn’t exactly the most welcoming response, and we doubt Nicki will hold back, look at those subliminal shots at Miley on “WTF” either.

Still, Missy went on to explain that she’d like to see more female rappers on the chart. “It was me, [Lil’] Kim, Lauryn [Hill], Eve, Foxy [Brown], Trina,” she said. “There’s room for so many. It’s important.”
