Anticipation is growing for the fourth Electronic Dance Music (EDM) event, Major Lazer + Friends LIVE, which will be held December 18 at Mas Camp in Kingston.

For the second straight year, EDM maestros Major Lazer will headline the event which is promoted by Kamal Bankay.

“This year the Early Bird tickets sold out in five days which is phenomenal. I think the public is looking forward to the event. I’m promising an amazing production and amazing lineup,” Bankay told Splash.

Last year, the event featured some of the biggest names in EDM such as Skrillex and DJ Snake along with British band Rudimental. Other performers were soca star Machael Montano, Popcaan, Sean Paul and Chi Ching Ching.

The sound had another outstanding year. Skrillex produced Sorry, a dancehall-tinged song by Justin Beiber which went number one on the Billboard pop chart this month.

EDM is one of the most popular genres in contemporary music. Initially big in clubs, it has ruled charts in North America and Europe in the last five years.
