Will Smith’s motivation to become an actor was because of a high school relationship that went horribly wrong. (Don’t that all!)

The actor told Variety’s Actors on Actors, “When I was fifteen my girlfriend cheated on me, and from that moment, in this bizaree psychological twist, I wanted to be the most famous entertainer on Earth because I believed that your girlfriend couldn’t cheat on you.”

Smith definitely showed this cheating girlfriend what he was made off because by the time he finished high school the actor had a hit rap song, five years after the breakup he won his first Grammy and two years later he hit our screens in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
