The Game entered a not guilty plea today (December 21) in the case where he punched an off-duty police officer during a basketball game, the Associated Press reports.

The Game was charged with one felony count for making criminal threats and a misdemeanor charge for assault and battery.

Earlier this month, a judge ruled that the Compton, California rapper will face trial for the incident. There is no start date set yet, but The Game will appear back in court January 11.

The Game says that he is facing three years jail time for punching an off-duty police officer during a basketball game.

“It’s a little bit more serious than it is,” he says to Sway, “but we’re gonna go in there with a good team of lawyers and we’re gonna do what we can.”

He also says he goes to trial Monday (August 17) for a $4.5 million lawsuit that 40 Glocc filed against him in 2013.
