Yesterday, numerous Girl Guides, Scouts, Brownies and Rangers, along with friends and family, assembled on the tennis court of the Arnos Vale Sporting Complex to kick start the commemoration of World Thinking Day with a rally. World Thinking Day is a day usually celebrated by the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) around the world on the 22nd of February, since 1926.

The rally began with a march from Ace 2 to the Arnos Vale Sporting Complex tennis court, where addresses were made by the president of the association, Mrs Gwendoline Russell and Patron, Dame Monica Dacon.

The programme encompassed activities which encouraged and promoted the theme – “Connect” and further, the sub themes – “Connect with me,” “Connect with friend,” “Connect with WAGGGS,” and “Connect with the world.” These activities included dances based on community service awareness and action songs that were used to promoted unity of the association.
