In what was an unbelievable UFC bantamweight championship fight at UFC 196, Miesha Tate upset Holly Holm to become the new queen of the women’s 135 pound division.

It was Tate who came into the fight as an underdog but she would prove to have a solid gameplan and a strong will to win, taking the fight to the former boxing champion, submitting her with a rear naked choke in the final round. It was Holm’s first professional defeat in the UFC, and also the first of her mixed martial arts career.

From here, where the division goes is anyone’s guess, but one would think that it would involve former champion, Ronda Rousey. In a post fight interview with the UFC on Fox panel, Dana White said that although Rousey did not watch tonights fight, in a text message she asked what had happened, to which White explained that Miesha had choked Holm out.

Rousey only had a short response to the news of the title change and her former rival winning UFC gold.
