Tupac Shakur’s love letter to his High School sweetheart is going to auction with an asking price of around $35,000.

And you may be surprised at the content of the 1988 letter – which suggests the rapper, who was 17 at the time, was a soppy old thing deep down.

‘We both love Prince we have both had heartbreak and we both adore candles,’ he wrote, after saying his crush could tell him ‘anything’ and cry on his shoulder.

Addressing his beloved as Beethoven – the nickname given to the girl of his dreams because of her skills on the piano – the icon explains his feelings and begs her to let him know if he’s moving ‘too fast’.

The legend, known professionally as 2Pac or Makaveli, also used the symbol of an eye to represent the word ‘I’ in the note, and drew little doodles to illustrate other words.

Tupac decorated the space around the letter with pictures of birds and left his phone number as a post-script at the bottom.
TMZ claims the letter is being sold by Moments In Time, who specialize in hand-written letters by famous people – and there are bound to be millions of fans who want to get hold of the artefact, seeing as Tupac’s sold 75 million records worldwide.

Tupac was shot dead in 1996 in Las Vegas at the age of 25, and his murder remains unsolved to this day.
