A Nigerian concert promoter has filed a lawsuit against Rihanna and her record label Roc Nation, for allegedly pocketing $160,000 for a canceled show.

According to documents filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, Chris Ubosi claims that his company had an agreement with the pop singer to perform a show in Lagos in May 2013.

Court papers say that the agreement was that Rihanna would be paid a total of $435,000 to perform a 65-minute set at the swanky Eko Hotel, and would be given $160,000 in advance.

According to Ubosi the pop superstar then requested to postpone the show until July, a delay they agreed to, as long as a new date was listed via her social media, a condition Ubosi claims was never met and the deposit never returned.

Roc Nation have since denied the allegations, stating that neither Rihanna or Jay Z were in contact with his company. A statement from the record label said: “Rihanna, Roc Nation nor anyone associated personally or professionally with either party was in contact with this person. Unfortunately this person was scammed. [Neither] Rihanna nor Roc Nation collected any money for this event.”
