Incarcerated veteran recording artiste Buju Banton’s sentence has once again been reduced.

According to multiple reports, the ‘Boom Bye Bye’ hitmaker is expected an early release due to good behaviour. Buju Banton, real name Mark Anthony Myrie, who was previously expected to be released in 2016, could be back home in Jamaica as early as September.

The 42-year-old artiste was arrested at his Tamarac, South Florida home in 2009 and convicted on cocaine charges in February 2011 in the Sam Gibbons US District Court, Tampa.

He’s currently serving his sentence at the McRae Correctional Facility in Georgia as inmate number 86700-004.

Days after his conviction, Banton won a Grammy Award for his album Before Dawn.
