Lornette “Fya Empress” Nedd-Reid and her lawyer Keith Scotland were successful on Thursday in getting the singer back into the Trinidad and Tobago Calypso Monarch competition finals scheduled for this Sunday.

Scotland, filed an injunction on behalf of Nedd-Reid after the Trinbago Unified Calypsonians Organisation (TUCO) agreed with calypsonian Lynette “Lady Gypsy” Steele that Nedd-Reid was not a Trinidadian so was ineligible to perform.

But a judge on Thursday decided that TUCO and Steele were wrong and ruled on behalf of Nedd-Reid, giving her back her position in Sunday’s finals.

On Thursday, Steele said that she was being politically victimized and as a result was being kept out of the competition. She had stated that her song “Plight of the People” would have been performed in grand style.

Go Fya!!!
