Grammy-award-winning international superstar Drake saluted soca king Machel Montano onstage in Toronto, Canada, this past weekend.

Drake promised to use his considerable influence to extend the “curfew time” of the Carnival Saturday concert event as part of Toronto Carnival festivities next year.

Dubbed Carnival Saturday OVO Fest—Machel Montano Live in Concert, the event is held annually at IRBC Echo Beach on Lake Shore Boulevard West in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Montano and his band supplied the soundtrack for the night, which also included performances from top Caribbean acts such as Charly Black, Bunji Garlin, Kranium, Fay-Ann Lyons and 2017 Road March champions, The Ultimate Rejects featuring MX Prime.

Making a surprise appearance onstage near the end of Montano’s set, Drake added more fuel to the already fired-up audience.
