Thaddeus Michael Findlay, a former local cricketer will be inducted into the SVG Diaspora Hall of Fame at the 2017 SVG Diaspora Heritage Awards.

In a post on their Facebook page, the St.Vincent & the Grenadines Diaspora Committee of New York refers to Findlay as “one of the greatest Vincentian sporting icons” whose contribution to sports extended outside of the field:

“Michael Findlay, passionately called “Mikey”, can easily be regarded as one of the greatest Vincentian sporting icons. His contribution to sports goes well beyond the cricket or soccer field, and extends to the field of sports administration and sports journalism. “Mikey”, along with Peggy Ince Hull (Netball), Mark Cordice (Karate), and Sam DeBique (Posthumously – Cricket) will be the sporting icons inducted into the SVG Diaspora Hall of Fame Heritage Awards on September 16, 2017. You may contact dheritageawards@gmail.com for details about placing congratulatory greetings in the commemorative journal.”

The 2017 SVG Diaspora Heritage Awards will be held on September 16, this year.
