Looks like Hollywood wants a word with Colin Kaeprnick.

Despite what appears to be an apparent attempt at blackballing, Colin Kaepernick’s prospects are still looking pretty good and finding themselves all the way in La-La Land it seems.

According to a new report from TMZ, a well-known casting director has been asking around for Kap, and recently posted on a message board inquiring for any representative of Colin Kaepernick to hit her line.

The casting director has been identified as the same individual currently working on the “Uncle Drew” film, starring Kyrie Irving, Lil Rel Howery, Nick Kroll, and featuring appearances from plenty of sports icons, including Shaq, Chris Webber, Lisa Leslie, and Reggie Miller. Naturally, there’s no official word on what this director is scouting Kaepernick for, but a cameo in the “Uncle Drew” film sounds about right.

Despite not playing in the league this season, Colin Kaepernick has managed to be one of the most talked about subjects in football and pop culture in general. Most recently, the former 49er filed a grievance of collusion against NFL owners, asserting that they’ve deliberately opted to keep him out of the league in response to his act of kneeling during the national anthem, and sparking a league-wide protest in the process.

“If the NFL (as well as all professional sports leagues) is to remain a meritocracy, then principled and peaceful political protest — which the owners themselves made great theater imitating weeks ago — should not be punished and athletes should not be denied employment based on partisan political provocation by the Executive Branch of our government,” penned Kaepernick’s legal team in a stement. ” Such a precedent threatens all patriotic Americans and harkens back to our darkest days as a nation. Protecting all athletes from such collusive conduct is what compelled Mr. Kaepernick to file his grievance.”

“Colin Kaepernick’s goal has always been, and remains, to simply be treated fairly by the league he performed at the highest level for and return to the football playing field.
