Johnny Depp is being sued by two former bodyguards who claim the actor placed them in dangerous work environments and hasn’t paid for their overtime wages, restricted meal, and rest breaks. According to TMZ, the new lawsuit—filed by Eugene Arreola and Miguel Sanchez—alleges Depp was carrying illegal drugs and open alcohol containers inside his vehicles, and that the two men often had to protect the actor from himself.

Arreola and Sanchez claim they began working privately for Depp in early 2016, after serving as his bodyguards through a security company for years prior. The court documents detail claims that the actor started taking advantage of them once they became his personal employees, placing them in dangerous and precarious situations. These included the aforementioned vehicle scenarios, a bodyguard accidentally shooting himself in the leg in another incident, and tasking the two bodyguards with babysitting his kids

Additionally, the pair claim they had to tell Depp he had “illegal substances visible on his face and person while preventing onlookers from noticing Depp’s condition” at a nightclub. The pair of bodyguards are suing Depp for their unpaid wages as well as damages. Depp hasn’t commented on the suit.
