Following the tragic homicide of Florida’s XXXTENTACION on June 18, Billboard announced that the deceased young rapper’s album sales soared and as a result, “SAD!” moved from #52 to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

XXXTENTACION now holds the Billboard record for the first posthumous #1 single for a lead soloist since Biggie’s 1997 hit “Mo Money Mo Problems.” It’s also X’s only song to reach the top of the chart. “SAD!” racked up 48.9 million streams, 26,000 downloads and 2.9 million radio audience impressions for the week ending June 21, resulting in the #1 placement as reported by Nielson Music tracking.

Billboard’s posthumous record is not the only record currently held by X, as he also broke a global one-day Spotify record on Tuesday (June 19). XXXTENTACION’s last album, ?, collected 10.4 million streams globally.

The promising life of X was cut short when he was shot outside of RIVA Motorsports in Deerfield Beach where he was attempting to buy a motorcycle. One suspect, Dedrick D. Williams, has been arrested and two others are believed to still be at large.

A public funeral for the late rapper was held today (June 27)
