Ishawna is set to star in a film, playing the character of a Dancehall deejay working as a dancer waiting for her big break. The “Equal Rights” singer is slated to play a supporting role in the upcoming movie as early as next year.

Monty Green, CEO of Royalty and Respect Films, told reporters that he was pleased to have Ishawna on-board, as he believes Ishawna is a natural talent and will prove to be a good fit for the role. The film producer disclosed that he met the artist while scouting for shooting locations last year. Green revealed that Ishawna would be casting alongside a Dancehall deejay.

“It’ s a real rags to riches story, rooted in the gangster and drug culture of Jamaica. The script is not finalized yet, but we hope to start filming before the end of this year,” said Green.

He went on to say the indie film’s last movie, ‘Lost’, was a hit and even recognized by the Filmmaker international Film Festival Award, which took place in London, copping two awards, one for best film and the other for the talented former Instagram model LaToya Ward for best actress.

Ishawna told reporters that it is an “honor to be cast in a movie”.

“And you know girl a just be festive and make my fan base proud because girl a deal with tings like a boss not a sketel. I also have some huge collaborations coming up with some Grammy award winning artist and some hot rappers in the USA,” Ishawna said.

Ishawna is currently riding high on the success of her most recent singles “Slippery When Wet” and “One And Lose.”

The controversial Jamaican entertainer is also in heavy demand at parties because of her loyal female fan base.
