Earlier this year, precisely on the night of the 2018 Met Gala, Cardi B’s security got into a heated fight with a fan who was harassing Cardi for her autograph even after she refused to give him the autograph.

The altercation ended with Giovanni Arnold (the self-proclaimed autograph hound) telling police that three security guards attacked him, shoved him to the ground and beat him up. Footage from the time of the incident shows the autograph seeker being transported to the hospital around 2:30 a.m. for neck and back pain.

Since the dispute, Giovanni has filed two lawsuits, one directed to Cardi B and Offset and the other directed to the hotel which he was allegedly beaten in front of. However, The Mark Hotel wants nothing to do with the case, and as a result are counter suing Cardi B and Offset, with their defense stating that the pair should take full responsibility of the incident.

“Any liability will be have been brought about and caused solely as a result of the fault, negligence, acts or omissions, want of care and/or breach of contract on the part of Belcalis Almanzar p/k/a Cardi B, Kiari Kendrell Cephus p/k/a Offset.” The Mark Hotel claims.

The hotel is currently seeking all claims be tossed. They want Cardi B and Offset held liable for any money that’s owed to Arnold.
