A few days after the Guardians of the Galaxy director, James Gunn, was fired from Disney the film’s stars began to speak up about what they claim to be an injustice.

In a twitter post, Dave Bautista (who plays Drax The Destroyer in the film), said, “I will have more to say but for right now all I will say is this, James Gunn is one of the most loving, caring, good-natured people I have ever met. He’s gentle and kind and cares deeply for people and animals. He’s made mistakes. We all have. I’m not ok with what’s happening to him.”

That posted marked the first of the numerous posts to follow by other members of the cast on their views concerning why James Gunn was fired.

Zoe Saldana, who plays Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy, posted on her twitter account as well, stating, “It’s been a challenging weekend I’m not gonna lie. I’m pausing myself to take everything in before I speak out of term. I just want everyone to know I love ALL members of my GOTG family. Always will.”

The stars of the film were not the only ones shaken by the firing of James Gunn. Rufus Hound has also expressed his disappointment in Disney’s reason to fire Gunn.

“Disney, your stories are so often about redemption,” Hound tweeted. “To fire James Gunn for jokes made as a younger man, jokes for which he has already apologized, goes against the moral code you taught us all when we were kids. No sense in cutting loose a good man. I urge you – rehire him.”

Since the firing, a petition has been started for the rehiring of James and so far the petition has received over 160,000 signs almost reaching its goal of 200,000.
