Rap artists don’t usually attend the Teen Choice Award show but that doesn’t stop them from winning a few awards. This year Cardi B and Young Thug both collected their first ever Teen Choice Awards.

Cardi took home the award for Choice R&B/Hip-Hop Artist, beating out Childish Gambino, Drake, Khalid, Nicki Minaj and Post Malone. Young Thug’s award came in the form of Choice Song: Female Artist, thanks to his collaboration with singer Camila Cabello on “Havana.”

The award is Cardi B’s first Teen Choice Award, although the artist was also nominated for Choice Collaboration, Choice R&B/Hip-Hop Song, Choice Latin Song and Choice Summer Song at this year’s show. It’s also Young Thug’s first time winning a Teen Choice Award. Later this month, the rapper will have a chance at winning an MTV Video Music Award when “Havana” competes for Video of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop and Best Choreography this month.
