Mother of three, two of which she gave birth to and one which she went opted for the ‘gestational carrier’ route, Kim Kardashian is planning on having baby #4 with husband, Kanye West.

Kim recently opened up in an interview that Kanye and her have one embryo left and this one will be a boy. Baby #4 will also be carried by a gestational carrier like sister, Chicago West (currently the youngest of the trio of West kids). Rumors surrounding why Kim decided not to give birth to Chicago West were spreading like wildfire during and after the pregnancy, Kim did not hesitate to put those to rest explaining that she had to let someone else carry her baby due to medical issues. Kim explained that she and her baby would’ve been at risk since her two prior pregnancies were high risk pregnancies due to Placenta Accreta.

Placenta Accreta is a condition where the placenta gets to deeply embedded into the uterine wall and does not come out of the birth canal once the baby is born. If it is too deeply embedded, the placenta can cause the mother to hemorrhage, which is life threatening.

Kim explained, “Doctors said that it wasn’t safe for my – or the baby’s – health to carry on my own.”

She continued, “After exploring many options, Kanye and I decided to use a gestational carrier. Although I have the term surrogate in the past, a gestational carrier is actually the technical term for a woman who carries a baby that has no biological relationship to. Since we implanted my fertilized egg in our gestational carrier, our baby is biologically mine and Kanye’s.”

Kim also said that she doesn’t want more than four kids in an April interview with Elle, “I don’t think I could handle more than that. My time is spread really thin. And I think it’s important that in all couples, the mom gives the husband as much attention as the kids.”

Kim Kardashian usually has a team of nannies to help with her three kids but they are rarely seen on Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
