Sean Kingston is hoping to be nominated for a Grammy for his Billboard-topping album ‘Tropical House Cruises to Jamaica.’

The album was released back in January and features Vybz Kartel on the album’s lead single, ‘Chance.’ ‘Tropical House Cruises to Jamaica’ topped the Billboard Reggae Chart for 4 consecutive weeks after being on the charts for just over 10 weeks. According to producer Sean ‘Contractor’ Edwards, the album was submitted to the Grammy board for consideration as a Best Reggae Album contender and was recently given the green light potentially making it the first Grammy nomination for Kingston.

Kingston is hoping that the nomination would help him and Kartel gain recognition and change a lot for the two artists as earning such a prestige award is capable of doing such. Kingston went on to say that there is still a long way to go before the shortlist of albums is announced, but he believes the project can go all the way.
