33 less fortunate students of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College received bursaries yesterday (September 18) complimented by donations made to Generation Next.

This year marks the 5th year Generation Next has been investing in the education of our Vincentian youths, with the aim set to ensure that at least one member of each Vincentian household would be a university graduate. Previously the organisation was able to assist students living in the vulnerable communities of North Leeward but have expanded their reach to include North Windward as well this year.

Students stemming from rural households where poverty limits the likeliness of a fair chance of receiving extended education and students stemming from areas of high crime in St. Vincent likewise, have benefited from an approximate $20,000 total donation made to Generation Next to provide these students with bursaries of $500 each dedicated to aid with their educational advancements.

Generation Next hopes to assist even more students next year through their Access To College Education program. Aiding students isn’t the only way the organisation does their part to help SVG grow, they also do a lot of significant work with the environment as well, by ensuring that persons are focused on keeping our island clean.
