Bill Cosby received his sentencing on Tuesday (September 25) for drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand back in 2004.

Bill was sentenced to 3-10 years which is a third of the estimated 30 years he was expected to get. Cosby will also be registered as a sex offender and undergo lifetime counseling as well as report quarterly to authorities. Mixed opinions about the decision made by the court were voiced on Twitter following the sentence. Some people said Bill is being targeted because he is a black man, while others saying the focus should be on the victims. Regardless of one’s perspective, it was all shared and felt throughout Twitter on Tuesday. However there wasn’t too many celebrities or athletes that voiced their opinion, opting to remain neutral and not ruffle any feathers apparently.

“Bill Cosby is set to serve 3 to 10 years in prison, but when he’s released he’s expected to be nominated to the Supreme Court,” one user tweeted. “The Bill Cosby farce should act as a valuable lesson to Black citizens. These white supremacists can get together & lie on you with ZERO proof & you can be put in prison. They even lied about Cosby “confessing to drugging women”. We are governed by “I’m White and I Say So” law,” another user tweeted. “This is bs . These women wait several years to accuse Bill Cosby of raping them without proof but it doesn’t matter in today’s society. No all it takes is a bias media to support the accusations and the lying women like the Bill Cosby Accusers. #BillCosbyisInnocent,” one Cosby supporter tweeted.
