Bob Marley passed away in 1981 from melanoma a form of skin disease, but were you aware that someone attempted to assassinate the Reggae legend just a few years before his sudden death at 36?

If you weren’t aware of the assassination attempt, Netflix will be enlightening you soon enough starting on October 12 with the series flowing to May 2019. ReMastered: Who shot the Sheriff, the documentary, will focus on various theories as to who may have attempted to assassinate Bob and why. It will cover topics such as gang warfare, political scheming, conspiracy theories, corruption, and the power of music. The documentary promises to shed new light on the Reggae icon’s December 3, 1976 assassination attempt which left him, wife Rita Marley, and manager Don Taylor injured.

Marley died on 11 May 1981 at Cedars of Lebanon Hospital in Miami (now University of Miami Hospital), aged 36. The spread of melanoma to his lungs and brain caused his death. His final words to his son Ziggy were “Money can’t buy life.”
