On Thursday (Oct. 18), Busta Rhymes took to Instagram to make a big announcement about his former Flipmode Squad. After 20 years, the group joined forces to bring fans the new single, “Flipmode Squad Meets The Conglomerate.”

‘This is a very historical moment,” Busta, 46, wrote as he talked about the merger between Flipmode and The Conglomerate.

After more than a decade apart, the single reconnects Busta, Rah Digga, Rampage, Spliff Star, Baby Sham and Lord Have Mercy with O.T. Genasis, J-Doe, Trillian, Prayah and Aaron Cooks. DJ Scratch holds down the beat.

The track is reminiscent of a ’90s cypher without the pressures of a battle. The MCs body this old school beat with recollections of friendships and loyalty. Within four minutes of pass and serves, the group members effortlessly perform their bars as they whip up the next 16 on a silver platter. In an interview with HipHopDX, Busta also confirmed that a new album is in the works.
