Ashanti was scheduled to perform at Stony Brook’s University Back To Brook event later this month but had to pull the cord on her show after she only managed to sell 24 tickets.

The school issued a statement explaining why they had to cancel the show that was originally supposed to be headlined by Teyana Taylor saying, “As an organization, we do our best to host programs for students while providing diversity and inclusion. However, we have struggled to execute certain aspects. With only a week before the concert, only 24 tickets were sold to students.”

Ashanti has been receiving a lot of negative comments since the cancellation and among those laughing at the singer is 50 Cent. “Do Basement parties then it can still feel like it’s lit,” 50 wrote on one of his posts regarding the show’s cancellation. At first, he was pretty speechless, admitting he didn’t quite know how to react. In a second upload, the rapper asked for all 24 ticket-buyers to report to him, requesting their names and socials after he told everybody “not to (mess) with” Ja Rule and, by association, Ashanti.
