An audio recording of XXXTentacion appearing to admit to abusing his ex-girlfriend and stabbing a number of people has surfaced online.

Pitchfork obtained a secretly recorded tape of the ‘Moonlight’ rapper – who was fatally shot in his native Florida back in June – where he can be heard talking about the incidents. At the time of his death, he was awaiting trial for domestic abuse charges dating back to 2016 involving his ex-girlfriend, Geneva Ayala. He was charged with aggravated battery of a pregnant victim, domestic battery by strangulation, false imprisonment, and witness tampering. The rapper, real name Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, denied the charges until his death. In the new recording, which was acquired by Pitchfork from the Miami-Dade County state attorney’s office, Onfroy can be heard discussing the case.“I put my source of happiness in another person, which was a mistake initially, right? But she fell through on every occasion until now. Until I started fucking her up bruh. I started fucking her up because she made one mistake.

“And from there, the whole cycle went down. Now she’s scared. That girl is scared for her life. Which I understand.” He also says, “I will kill that bitch if she play with me.” Onfrey also admits to stabbing eight people in Deerfield Beach, Florida, as well as his former manager in Orange County, Florida. “I’m on [Miami] New Times for stabbing, how many people they put in the news? They said three, it was eight.””She’s seen this,” he adds, referring to Ayala. “She know. So she’s scared. She thinks I’m going to kill her.” According to the publication, both the prosecution and XXX’s defense have considered the tape a confession, although the criminal cases against the rapper were dropped following this death.
