Kanye West is known for his rap career but since Trump ran for president the rap artist’s name was mostly being brought up in households for his loyalty to the Republican president.

Many people disagree with Kanye’s decision to stand with the controversial president and majority of the African-American population in the US even view him as an outcast. Celebrities that were once friends with Kanye, including Jay-Z and Beyonce, have even distanced themselves from him as a result of his political stance. Whether Kanye took this particular position to stand against the beliefs of his people as a branding effort or to get his name in the political arena before 2024 (the year he declared as the year he will run for president) is unclear, but as of now, Kanye is saying he wants out.

In a short Twitter rant, Kanye shared his new decision to step away from politics all together and focus on the creative aspect of his talents. The recent rant was the result of Kanye’s claim that his name was associated with Blexit in Candace Owen’s fashion venture against his wishes. Kanye tweeted, “I introduced Candace to the person who made the logo and they didn’t want their name on it so she used mine. I never wanted any association with Blexit. I have nothing to do with it.” He then went on to thank his family for believing in his actual beliefs and declared his retract from politics. “I would like to thank my family, loved ones, and community for supporting my ACTUAL beliefs and my vision for a better world,” Ye tweeted. “My eyes are now wide open and now realize. I am distancing myself from politics and completely focusing on being creative !!!,” he went on to say.
