The voice of Beyoncé has once again made the world stand still.

At the Global Citizen: Mandela 100 festival in Johannesburg, South Africa, commemorating what would have been Nelson Mandela’s 100th birthday, Beyoncé and husband Jay-Z performed parts of their On The Run II tour. But this was not Beyoncé’s ordinary phantasmagoric explosion of talent: a highlight came when Beyoncé, vocalist of a generation, absolutely murdered her rap verses on the couple’s single, “Apeshit.”

The festival only broadcast 25 minutes of the performance, but that was plenty of time for Beyoncé to slay us dead with her swagger and bar-spitting.

In a video of the performance, Jay-Z stood next to his wife/supreme being, backing her up with “yeahs” and brrrraps like the devoted hype man he is. For fans watching online, Beyoncé once again stole the show, with the skill usually ascribed to her husband.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z headlined the charity festival, hosted by Trevor Noah. Pharrell Williams, Kacey Musgraves, and other artists also performed. The Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100 celebrated the life and legacy of the South African leader and human rights activist Nelson Mandela, and supports a campaign to end extreme poverty.
