2019 Grammy nominations have been released and one of the Best Reggae Album nominees is creating history for one reggae artist.

Etana has officially ended the drought for female reggae artiste nominees in the Grammy Awards, with her album “Reggae Forever”, making her only the fourth woman in history to be nominated in this category, in over TWENTY years.

The last female in this coveted position was Sister Carol, who was nominated back in 1997 for her album, “Lyrically Potent.” So far, no females have won the Grammy for Best Reggae Album.

The other nominees in this category are:
44/879 – Sting & Shaggy
Matter of Time – Protégé
As the World Turns – Black Uhuru
Rebellion Rises – Ziggy Marley
