The Sandy Bay Police Youth Club Carolers and ‘Fire Busters’ secured the prizes for the Police Credit Union’s annual Christmas caroling competition this year for the junior and senior divisions respectfully, this year’s competition was also broadcast live online for the competition’s first time in it’s 15 year history.

The youths of the Sandy Bay Police Youth Club took home $350.00 cash, a trophy and a case of Vita Malt for their win while the ‘Fire Busters’ took home $700.00 in cash, a trophy and a case of Vita Malt for their win. The SBPYCC secured their winning spot with the song, ‘Oh Little Town Of Bethlehem,’ which placed them ahead of Paget Farm Police Youth Carolers who placed second in the division for singing, ‘Noel,’ followed by Petit Bordel Police Youth Club Carolers who took the third position for singing, ‘Oh Come All Ye Faithful.’ A total of six groups competed for the Junior caroling title.

The Fire Busters out-sang their seven (7) other competitors in the senior choir competition with their original rendition “Gloria in Excelsis Deo” and “Christmas Bacchanal in the traditional category. Traffic Angels placed second for the second consecutive year singing “Comfort and Joy” and Pull Down Crime for the Christmas” and the third position went to “CPS Blasters” who sang “Christmas Hallelujah” and “Santa Gone Santa still dey”. The two (2) champions were crowned at the culmination of the caroling contest in the “wee” hours on Saturday December 15, 2018 at Central Police Station.
