Cardi B believes she has every right to talk about the government shutdown as much as the next American woman.

Last night (Jan. 17), the Bronx native realized that her rant about the longest government shutdown in U.S. history has gone viral not only with her fans but also among elected senators in Congress as well. After MSNBC’s Ari Melber referenced her rant, Bardi posted a clip of The Beat’s segment on Instagram and made a point about her political outbursts. Not only does she expand on the facts she spits in the viral video, but she also asserts her God-given right to speak out about issues happening within the government.

“Soo many people under my comments talking about I shouldn’t talk politics ,I don’t know what I’m talking about , I’m dumb ! Well I know alittle something something,” Cardi said in her caption. “I know 800,000 federal government workers won’t be getting paid till the shutdown is over and government assistants program are shutdown as well as in NO WELFARE , NO WIC,SECTION 8” Cardi B continued by encouraging her followers to stay updated with what’s going on in the US by any means necessary. “I know it’s a little boring to watch the news but it won’t kill ya to visit some IG pages of people that talk about what’s going on in our community like @shaunking @tamikadmallory and shiiieeett sometimes uncle snoop and Charlamgne be saying some shit that goes over ya heads .PAY ATTENTION !!! This can go on for months and it will affect our homes and Country,” she concluded.
