Nike’s Air Max 98 brought retro sneakers to the masses, reinvigorating interest in its silhouette with a series of strong mainline colorways as well as a seasoned set of luxe Supreme renditions. While surely a far cry from its snakeskin-donning kit, the forthcoming University Red scheme takes on a bold appearance that is akin to the glossy patent leather of the same collaborative release. Dressing the mudguard instead with a smooth leather, the wrapping along with the adjacent, molded panel come finished in the loud tone while outsole, lace stays and tongue tags compliment with mimicry. An embroidered swoosh hides beneath a sea of red, leaving the duty of contrast up to the upward-facing panels of Summit White. A reflective materials lines the seam across the entire foot as well, adding just that extra touch for when the light shines bright. Releasing at a price point of around 180 USD, expect to see these at the retailers below come January 25th.
