Famalay is undoubtly one of the biggest tracks of Trinidad carnival 2019. With three of the Caribbean’s top International Soca stars blazing on the same power track, how can it not be??

Skinny Fabulous, Machel Montano & Bunji Garlin’s infectious and energetic vibe as well as their presentation of a unified front in the Soca arena has inspired the same level of unity, love and revelry amongst Soca fans everywhere it is played or performed. It is now one of the biggest contenders in the road march competition.

The big question is: Because one artist is not Trinidadian, is the song eligible to compete in Road March?
This was the question posed to Machel Montano in an interview with CNC3.
According to Montano, as long as the song is 2/3 local it CAN compete for Road March. The Soca star goes on to say that the title of Road March shouldn’t be limited to Trinidadians, rather, it should be the people’s choice. He noted that sometimes the rules and boundaries that are set can prevent the art form from going beyond history.
