According to The Blast, Nicki Minaj is demanding the judge throw out Chapman’s lawsuit against her. She claims she did nothing wrong and does not owe the singer any damages. This comes after Chapman filed a case against the rapper for Minaj’s hand in leaking the track “Sorry” which holds an uncleared sample of Chapman’s song “Baby Can I Hold You.”

Nicki Minaj was open about wanting the song featuring Nas to be on her Queen album but Chapman refused clearance. Minaj loved the record so much that she even considered pushing her album back in hopes to come to a deal with Chapman. But, the two parties were not able to come to an agreement thus leaving the record on the cutting room floor.

However, in true hip-hop fashion, someone found a way around the suits. The track got into the hands of Funkmaster Flex, who premiered it without permission. That led Chapman’s lawyers to boot up and hit Minaj with a lawsuit that says she’s at fault for the leak. Chapman is now seeking unspecified damages and an injunction prohibiting Minaj from using her music.
