Jamaican sprinting legend Usain Bolt and his longtime girlfriend, Kasi Bennett welcomed their first child on May 17- a baby girl.

The couple have shared moments from their journey to becoming parents with the public, starting with a pregnancy reveal on social media in January.

Jamaicans and sprinting fans around the world were ecstatic about the announcement of “Baby Bolt” on the way and even gave suggestion on baby names. Well-wishers including Bolt’s forming running mate, Asafa Powell, who joked that Usain’s first child was long overdue.

In March, the couple had an elaborate gender reveal in Jamaica, where it was revealed that the Jamaican sprinter would become a “#GirlDad” in short order.

Via social media, Prime Minister congratulated the couple on the birth of their first child.
